At Cedar Lodge, we believe that great care starts with great staff. Each morning, a carer will likely be the first person who a resident sees. Care staff will be there throughout the day: at mealtimes, when personal care is needed, during activities and whenever a resident just fancies a chat.<\/p>\n
So, getting the right staff. Staff with bright, sunny personalities that make your day, has always been a top priority of ours at Cedar Lodge. Fortunately, we\u2019ve been blessed with a great team.<\/p>\n
As you\u2019ll read below, a lot of our care staff have been with us for ten years; with others that have worked in care for even longer.<\/p>\n
Most live within a stone\u2019s throw from the home or in nearby villages. We see this as a real asset. Each day, staff will bring all sorts of village news and goings-on to our residents – making them feel that they quite rightly remain at the heart of their community.<\/p>\n

Brother and sister, they make a winning duo.<\/p>\n Rupert started as a care assistant at a local home, before working his way up to become the Registered Manager of Cedar Lodge in 2015.<\/p>\n Rupert\u2019s our jack-of-all trades. If you visit the care home, you could find him working in the office, chatting with residents, or putting down new carpets; there\u2019s not a task to which he won\u2019t lend some expertise. Rupert\u2019s easy to spot too; he\u2019s very tall !<\/p>\n In contrast, Victoria hails from a hospitality background. In 2018, she decided to join the family business and has never looked back. She now uses her experience in catering as the care home’s Catering Director – planning menus, completing our weekly food shop and liaising with the cooks.<\/p>\n Both siblings live and breathe care. In many ways, they\u2019ve been doing so their whole lives. Grandmother, Sue, used to run a care home; as did their mum, Sally, who progressed from a care home chef to a manager. Dad, Mark, also works in the sector; where he brokers finance for UK care businesses.<\/p>\n Rupert and Victoria feel strongly about providing the best quality care for every individual who has made Cedar Lodge their home. Moreover, they\u2019ve got the qualifications\u00a0 to back it up. Both hold an NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care. First joining as a Care Assistant, Jess has gone from strength to strength, being promoted first to Deputy Manager and now to Registered Manager of the care home. She has a particular talent for coordinating our residents healthcare needs with our NHS partners – she\u2019s a true superstar!<\/p>\n Jess loves to learn and has achieved her Level 4 Diploma in Health & Social Care – a fab achievement! And after taking some time off to work in a primary school, she returned to Cedar Lodge to help during the pandemic.<\/p>\n We\u2019re thrilled that Lisa decided to make the move back to us\u00a0long term.\u00a0As when it comes to care, Lisa is a real bank of knowledge. In a former life, she even\u00a0ran a care home.<\/p>\n Nowadays, she uses all these skills in her newly promoted role as Cedar Lodge’s Deputy Manager.<\/p>\n Lisa is\u00a0Yorkshire born and bred. He loved it so much he never left!<\/p>\n Over the past 5 years Jamie has moved beyond the realms of advertising and has completed his Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care. He now works as part of the management team – auditing Cedar Lodge in his capacity as the Nominated Individual (a role unique to the care sector where a person supervises the management of care activities). In 2024, she has also project-managed to roll out of our first intranet system at Cedar Lodge, which is helping us to digitise our documents across the organisation.<\/p>\n Outside of work, Michelle can often be found playing badminton, gardening or socialising with friends at the Ivy in North Littleton. She’s a film buff too with a penchant for Quentin Tarantino movies. Domiciliary, other care homes and now with us here, at Cedar Lodge.<\/p>\n Sue brings her\u00a0wealth of experience\u00a0to the role and is Cedar Lodge\u2019s original triple threat \u2013 caring, cooking and cleaning par excellence.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sue is known amongst the residents for the delicious pancakes that she makes every Sunday. An expert knitter, Kim hosts our \u2018Knit & Knatter\u2019 club on a Tuesday, where residents and members of the community come together to knit over a hot brew.
