Take a look around and discover what we have to offer.
We have a range of bedrooms to suit all preferences at Cedar Lodge. These include ground floor bedrooms, rooms with garden access and those with hospital beds too.
Many of our ensuite bathrooms have sleek, walk-in showers and wet rooms. Our residents with mobility issues often find these styles of facilities a great help.
Living & Dining
Our residents enjoy beautiful communal spaces. Lots of Comfy chairs, ornate furniture and plush surrounds. They’re newly decorated too!
Your room is your home. Where you can relax and truly be yourself. That’s why we pay so much attention to our rooms at Cedar Lodge.
Each of our bedrooms is individual. Some are cosy and intimate, while others are grand and ornate. Many are decorated with chandeliers as well as other period features from our original Georgian property.
Each room has its own personality and exudes all those warm feelings of home. Room layouts are also orientated to tailor to any mobility issues you might have. Well designed to keep you independent for longer.
And if you’re prone to falling, we can also furnish your room with pressure mats; so we’re straight on the scene if you lose your balance.
Bedrooms are elegant and tastefully decorated in pleasant, neutral tones. If you move to Cedar Lodge, we promise that your room will come fitted with all the state-of-the-art amenities listed below:
- A Comfy Bed
- Ensuite facilities
- Bedside Table
- Chest of Drawers
- Cosy Armchair
- Flat Screen TV with a digital suite of channels
- And an over-the-bed table; very handy for resting that evening cup of tea or a weekend breakfast in bed.
Free Wi-fi is accessible everywhere in the home, so you can keep in touch with friends and family whenever you please.
Meanwhile we’ve installed digital call bells in every room and bathroom. You can alert staff from these call points if ever you’re in trouble (or even if you just fancy a hot drink).
We encourage our residents to personalise their rooms as they see fit. For many, this means bringing furniture or other cherished interiors from previous accommodation. If it makes the place feel more like home for you, we’re all for it.
As ultimately, this is your experience of care. Our care team at Cedar Lodge want to make your stay as personal as possible.
If you’d like to look around our home, why not arrange a tour with our care home manager, Rupert ? He can be reached on 01386 293 033 .
“Originally a Georgian house, Cedar Lodge has been carefully adapted to suit the needs of the residents. An overall feeling of safety, warmth, comfort and contentment exists the moment you step through the front door”.

The Drawing Room is a real jewel. Inspired by Cedar Lodge’s Georgian heritage, the room is decked to the nines with ornate wood furniture, deep leather sofas and the piece de resistance: a grand marble mantelpiece.
It’s the perfect room to show off to your friends and family when they come round for tea!
We use our drawing room for all sorts of special occasions; such as meeting loved ones, celebrating birthdays and hosting our summer fair.
Our lounge is the heart of Cedar Lodge. The room is spacious, warm and richly furnished with plush carpets and tartan blankets. In the summer, patio doors open on to a quaint, cooling terrace.
Many of our residents enjoy coming down to the lounge to watch all the goings on at Cedar Lodge. From the comfort of a cosy armchair, you can catch up with friends, watch telly on our modern, flat-screen TV and take part in our eclectic mix of daily activities.
Our lounge is also home to surely Cedar Lodge’s most famous resident, Freddy the care home cat.
When Freddy isn’t searching for belly rubs, he can often be found snoozing contently beneath the bookshelf. Next time you visit the home, make sure to look out for him, he’s a real gentleman.
We believe in family style dining at Cedar Lodge. Our rustic dining space is the perfect setting for this.
Each meal is a social occasion and everyone eats together.
We find that even residents who like their own company will make a daily trip down to the dining room to eat with their peers.
For some elderly individuals who live alone, food can lose its appeal. Eating with others therefore helps to encourage their appetites. Keeping everyone in robust health.
Our lunches are leisurely.
Most residents enjoy their main meal and pudding followed by tea or coffee. Being adjacent to the kitchen, you’re close enough to call out for seconds!
