Easter is a special time of the year, filled with joy, renewal, and the promise of spring. Like many care homes in Evesham, we embraced the spirit of Easter this year with a series of fun-packed festivities. From holding an Easter raffle to baking homemade cupcakes and gifting Easter eggs, these activities were not just about celebration; they were about enhancing the wellbeing of every resident.
Creating Joy with an Easter Raffle at Cedar Lodge Care Home Evesham
One of the highlights of the Easter celebration was the much-anticipated Easter raffle. This event brought lots of excitement as residents and their families each paid a pound for a ticket to win this year’s grand prize – a fluffy Easter bunny and a Maltesers Chocolate Egg!

The raffle was drawn by one of the residents and won by a family member of a former resident. It was a lovely way of bringing our care home community together, fostering camaraderie and connection among staff, residents, and their loved ones.

Homemade Cupcakes at our Care Home in Evesham
Nothing says “home” quite like the smell of freshly baked desserts! This Easter, our care home kitchen was bustling with activity as we whipped up batches of homemade cupcakes. These delicious treats were made with love and care by our Catering Director, who topped each cupcake with yummy icing and chocolate mini eggs.
Our cooks hosts a cookery class with residents at Cedar Lodge on a regular basis throughout the year. We find it’s a great way for residents to engage in a meaningful and sensory-rich activity. Those who wish to participate in the baking process can do so, enjoying the tactile experience of mixing ingredients and the delightful aroma of baking sweet treats.
The act of baking and enjoying homemade cakes can evoke fond memories of Easter and create new ones, promoting emotional wellbeing and a sense of nostalgia. We found sharing these cupcakes over our Easter encouraged social interaction and strengthened bonds amongst residents and staff.

Gifting Easter Eggs, Care Homes Evesham
Easter eggs are a timeless symbol of renewal and new beginnings.
At our care home, we ensured that every resident received a delicious Easter egg on Easter Sunday. Residents had the choice of Terry’s Chocolate Orange, M&Ms or several different types of egg from Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. It was a small gesture, but one in which we hope helped residents feel a valued part of their community here at Cedar Lodge.
