You’ve heard of the film ‘Snakes on a Plane’…but snakes in a care home?
Well that’s exactly what happened on May 5th when our residents welcomed the team from Axolotl & Reptile Rescue!
Purveyors of all things that creep and crawl – the team’s menagerie of formidable creatures both frighted and delighted us at Cedar Lodge.

Amongst staff and residents, it was the residents who proved the braver of the two – holding tarantulas in their palms, petting tortoises and even draping large, tropical snakes across their shoulders – all under the knowledgable guidance of reptile expert, Gareth.

Whilst a lot of our residents grew up in farming communities, the world of reptiles was completely new to us and we enjoyed learning all about these animals during this interactive educational experience.
Thanks again Axolotl & Reptile Rescue for such a great afternoon.
